Welcome
to our website!
OUR GOALS:
We aim to promote the working ability and versatility of
the German Shepherd
through our activities and our occasional litters.
The founder of this breed, von
Stephanitz, had a vision that the breed standard and comprehensive
breeding regulations, required that dogs used for breeding first had to
prove their breed worth physically and mentally.
This herding dog's inherent
qualitites of vigour, intelligence, reliability, enthusiasm and
willingness to work give it a nobility beyond that of a superficial
veneer of beauty.
The dog's physical attributes enable him to perform its tasks.
Early breed worth tests were in
the form of herding trials. Later, for dogs no longer used for
herding, a further set of tests were introduced, designed to prove
intelligence, confidence, courage, vigour and eagerness to work.
This test is called "schutzhund". |

WoodShop:
I started woodworking several years ago, mostly doing items for myself
(hard to find Giant Schnauzer stuff) and also gifts for friends.
These gifts were greatly admired and soon people began ordering pieces
from me. I developed a unique technique: each piece is cut out,
sanded and stained, then glued back together into a finished product
and varnished. Each piece is definitely unique. This
has led to a time-consuming, yet very fun past-time. I now set up
the occasional booth at dog shows, create prizes for breed specialties
and have 3 stores across the Maritimes selling my woodcrafts.
